From August 04th to August 07th, 2026 the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (CEA-HCM) collaborated with VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) to conduct the official site visit for 3 master’s degree programs in Accounting, International Economics and Finance and Banking.
During the official site visit, the Expert team reviewed the self-assessment reports and supporting evidence of the programs. They also conducted interviews and discussions with various stakeholder groups, including the University’s leadership, academic unit leaders, faculty members, support staff, students, alumni, and employers. In addition, on-site inspections of the University’s facilities, teaching and learning resources, equipment, and learning environment were carried out to evaluate the conditions supporting the delivery of the programs.
The closing ceremony, held on August 07th, 2026. At the ceremony, representatives of the Expert team presented the preliminary findings of the evaluation, highlighting the programs’ strengths, identifying areas for further improvement, and providing recommendations to support the University’s continuous enhancement of educational quality.
On behalf of VNU-UEB, Dr. Pham Minh Tuan – Vice Rector, expressed sincere appreciation to the Center and the members of the Expert team for their objective, professional, and responsible work, as well as for their valuable observations and recommendations contributing to the development of the assessed programs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center, thanked the University’s leadership, relevant units, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders for their active cooperation throughout the preparation and implementation of the official site visit, which significantly contributed to the success of the external assessment process.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, representatives of the Expert Team, the Center and VNU-UEB signed the Minutes of Completion of the official site visit in the presence of the Assessment Team experts and leaders of departments, lecturers of the faculties/departments whose training programs were evaluated.
During the same official external assessment at the University, trainees participating in the Training Program for Higher Education and Teacher Education Accreditation Assessors organized by the Center had the opportunity to undertake a practical learning activity and directly observe selected activities of the External Assessment Team at the University.
The practical learning activity was organized to provide trainees with first-hand exposure to external assessment practices and to connect the knowledge and professional competencies acquired through the training program with the actual implementation of external assessment at a higher education institution. As part of the program, trainees attended the opening session of the official external assessment, visited the University’s facilities, and directly observed the student interview session.
Through direct observation of the activities conducted during the official external assessment, trainees gained a better understanding of how external assessment activities are organized, coordinated, and implemented at a higher education institution. The experience also enabled them to enhance their practical knowledge and further develop the professional competencies and skills required for education quality accreditation.
The practical learning activity at the University represents a valuable component of the Accreditation Assessor Training Program, strengthening the connection between professional training, practical application, and first-hand experience for trainees.
